HON•TE ADVISORS LLC

GLOBAL MACRO INVESTMENT FIRM

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2015, Hon•Te Advisors, LLC is an SF-based global macro investment firm that focuses on thematic, multi-asset class investing across developed and emerging markets. Our passion for constructing superior portfolios that create orthogonal revenue streams to traditional assets, such as equities, drives our approach. By employing formal logic to a disciplined trade selection process, we seek to capitalize on mispriced assets globally.

Hon•Te is a Japanese term used to describe a patient, strategic move in the game of Go. It represents our commitment to a strategy oriented toward long-horizon performance.

WHAT WE DO

Provide uncorrelated revenue stream for institutional investors

  • Targets strong performance at every stage of the equity cycle
  • Exercises quantitative risk controls to preserve capital
  • Pursues a long-horizon strategy for capital appreciation

Our distinctively unique approach to macro investing:

  • Adheres to formal logic
  • Enhances strategic decision and portfolio optimization using modern quantitative techniques
  • Remains agnostic about benchmarks and single-market forecasts

CURRENT OUTLOOK

We continue to see signs of late-cycle behavior consistent with 2000 and 2007, and in our view:

  • Today’s markets require greater agility than mid-cycle periods
  • Insufficient to just be “long bonds”; a more nuanced approach to trading the yield curve is critical
  • Essential to engage capital in advance of economic rollovers and invest in counter-cyclical strategies
  • Diversifying macro funds can add portfolio robustness to weather volatility
